Not everyone knows that the best-selling computer of all time was not a Mac or a PC, but the legendary Commodore 64 that in the 80’s conquered the world in an unprecedented way.The success of the Commodore 64 was the price, its easy system and, above all, the numerous video games.
While a vintage version of the Commodore 64, the C64 Mini (which costs about 60 Euros on Amazon) is out this year, the Internet Archive has added (to its section dedicated to historical computer emulators and old systems) even the ‘
Commodore 64 online emulator to its library of historical software, thus making available to all nostalgics many of the game titles that were great successes of the time. The catalog of

We also have some of the best games like Airborne Ranger, The Last Ninja, Bubble Bobble, Castle Wolfenstein, Zak McKraken, Altered Beast, Maniac Mansion, Giana Sisters, Burger Time, The Bard’s Tale, Sim City, Ghosts’n Goblins, Decathlon, Karateka, Boulder Dash.
You can browse the selection and filter the games based on the views, to find the most popular ones, or in alphabetical order.
Games can also be found based on the year of release, even if it is not suitable for everyone.
The Commodore 64 game collection includes around 9000 titles.
To play, you can use the keyboard or even a Joypad connected.
The use of the joypad is certainly better since most of the C-64 games using the joystick with a single button.
If you use the keyboard, the main keys are on the numeric keypad, with the 0 being used as the main button and the up, down, left and right keys to move (not very comfortable).
You can also remap the keys and choose different ones, although this will have to be done every time you load a game because (at the moment) I don’t think there is a way to save them.
The F12 key is used to display the emulator settings menu, the up and down arrows to highlight the settings and the right arrow to select it.
in Machine Settings of the Joystick, you can define the keyset.
Go back from the menu using the left arrow key, highlight and select “Joystick 1” and then select “keyboard 1.”
Press Esc to exit the settings menu and you are ready to play.
The same thing can also be done for the Joypad.
